Stunt Kites

“I was 49 years old when I first saw a stunt kite in the air at St. Petersburg Beach, Florida. I was in awe of the precision that the pilots had over their kites. I guessed that the pilot was one of those super talented kids that had been practicing the maneuvers for years. So I ran out on the beach to get a closer look. It wasn't a kid, it was a gentleman at least ten years older than myself and he had just started flying kites a few months earlier. In about an hour, he had shown me the basics and let me take over the lines. It wasn't pretty, but I managed to keep the kite up in the air and didn't break anything. A few hours later, I was doing most of the tricks he had done and I was hooked on flying stunt kites.”

Stunt kites can have two, three or four lines that steer the kites through the sky, performing an amazing number of tricks and stunts.
